Never too late to say Thank you :)
I was hesitating for quite some time to write this story since I was skeptical if people would actually read this. But it’s 2021 already and there’s no time to sit back and watch my chances go away.
Being a university student during the lockdown period was a very stressful time. Days go by and you wait until the situation is fine but everyday the death count keeps adding up.
You have zero energy to carry on with your work and you often question your choices you made.
One night when I was so distressed and swallowing myself in misery, like any other normal person I just went through Youtube searching blindly for something that would make me smile and make my situation a bit better.
Nothing seems to work. Even the cat jumping from the roof or the dog swimming in the pool won’t put a smile on my face.
Well, Youtube works in a weird way as we all know so suddenly I got a recommendation of a song called ‘Magic Shop’ by BTS.
My first thought was ‘ Okay, how can a Korean song make me better? I simply wouldn’t understand it anyways,’ But at that moment I just wanted to listen to any sort of song that would heal me. Quite hesitantly I clicked on it.
The lyrics were displayed on the bottom and the music felt comforting.. in a weird way.. what suddenly struck me was this particular lyric,
“If I was afraid of everything, could you believe me?
All the sincere time left
All your answers are here
In your mind in your Milky Way”
What a strange lyric it was at that time for me, in a world when there was full of songs of love, breakup or fighting this song hit me deeply.
Maybe I needed some comfort from someone, and someone became BTS.
What I mean that I like BTS, it doesn’t mean that I am a hardcore fan who stalks them 24/7. Or even dream of marrying them and have these cheesy fantasies.
It’s simply admiring them for who they are. The more I started listening to their songs the more I realized even if the lyrics are in another language the music we listen to is all one.
Months went by, and I started getting better. When ever there was a hard day or if I was being too harsh on myself I would just lie down and listen to one of their songs. Or maybe watch ‘RUN BTS’ a reality show where they just do games and etc.
I often wonder why they get so much of love and admiration from fans and I’m figuring it out finally. In a world full of malicious, fake people who tries to do things which will benefit themselves, BTS provided a sense of comfort and ease amid the chaos.
They are the type of people who would hug you after a long hard day, make some tea, and sit next to you near the window while you look up at the stars and wonder.
They are the type of people who are genuine by heart and will do anything from their side to produce quality music and content to make you happy.
These men are often subjected to hate, discrimination just because they aren’t ‘man’ enough. Just because you wear earrings and make-up doesn’t make you less of a man. It’s who they are in the inside matters.
So with a genuine and a happy heart, Thank you BTS :). You made my 2020 abit better with your music. Gave me a reason to laugh, cry and be hopeful.

I won’t be telling you in detail about their lovely songs and their story to which is so prominent. But I do urge you to search them up and listen to one of their songs, it will certainly put a smile on your face.
